Not sure which pedals you need for the music you play? This chapter gives you a starter guitar pedalboard setup for each style, with the chain order drawn as a pedal diagram and knob settings to begin from, so you can plug in and get close fast.
The blues board aims for a warm amp just starting to break up, steered with your guitar's volume knob. The rock board moves from crunchy rhythm to a singing lead with a few colors on top, and the metal board is all about tight high gain, a firm low end and silence between riffs. Funk gets a clean, snappy sound with filter sweeps, and country a bright tone with compression and a quick slapback echo. The ambient and worship board builds wide, shimmering washes around a dotted-eighth delay. Jazz and acoustic folk show that less is more: a warm clean tone, and an amplified acoustic that sounds like itself, only louder.
Each lesson adds tweaks for common problems, from fizzy drive to feedback. Use the settings as a starting point and trust your ears.
